Katie & Matt's Southdowns Manor Spring Wedding
On a whimsical April day in Petersfield, Katie and Matt married at Southdowns Manor, a grand and stately looking venue sitting right on the borders of Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex. Theming the day was a colour palette of romantic lilac and lavender, shades of purple aptly known to symbolise purity, love and devotion - a perfect choice for a wedding day! I’m pretty sure this delicate and sacred colour inspiration also helped to evoke calming feelings and relaxed happy vibes throughout the day, as both the bride and groom and their guests seemed very at home and nicely insouciant at this charming setting.

Meg & Rob's Spring Wedding at Southend Barns
If you were to cross Harry Potter with Cinderella you would get the summary of the truly magical fairytale fantasy that was Meg and Rob’s wedding day! Hard to imagine? Let me explain. Beautiful Meg’s second greatest affection in life (first being for her groom of course) is for the Harry Potter novels, which whilst using as inspiration to creatively theme the wedding day, was probably never going to work with regards to inspiring her bridal gown! For, arguably, the most important dress of her life, Meg looked for guidance from a character from another style of literature - the ultimate in iconic fairy tale princesses. She chose to emulate a timeless heroine who represents strength, beauty and grace. She chose to be a real-life Cinderella. What was so memorable was that by merging these two sets of fantastical ideas, Meg and Rob’s unique wedding story remained perfectly breathtaking, yet at the same time wonderfully unpredictable and romantic.

Claudette & Aaron's Southend Barns Winter Wedding
I was delighted to be back at the charmingly restored dairy farm buildings of Southend Barns in West Sussex, photographing my last wedding of 2017 in the low November afternoon sun. Long shadows stretched out over the green stripes of the neatly mown lawn in the courtyard as wispy clouds brushed across the clear blue sky above the infamous three canopy peaks. Claudette and Aaron’s wedding day was pretty en pointe weather wise and I was excited for all the little magical moments, that I felt certain, we would all experience on this crisp wintery afternoon.
